Longestaffe, Georgiana.

A shopworn beauty, ill-tempered over her failure to find a rich husband, and finally driven by her determination to secure wealth to engage herself to an elderly Jewish banker. When she found that he had lost a great deal of money through his connections with Augustus Melmotte, and could not provide her a London house, she threw him over and as a last resort married a country curate.
